From the beginning of 2015, the Archivio Arcivescovile has started a cooperation with the Università di Bologna to allow students to complete academic internships. The variety of documents preserved in the Archive allows to focus on different research fields.
In the past years, dozens of students have successfully completed their academic internships at the Archive, working on reused parchments, on bibliographical activities, and on the creation of inventories and additional sets of research tools.
Two internships’ projects are currently available. The first one interests the census and cataloguing of reused parchments, abundant in the Archive’s repositories. This project has been developed in cooperation with Centro RAM (Ricerche e Analisi Manoscritti). The work on those fragments cannot be disjoint from a student’s basic knowledge on palӕography and diplomatics. For applying to this internship, the student has to contact the archive’s staff and Maddalena Modesti, professor at the Università di Bologna and the person in charge of this project.
The second project available for an internship allows the student to collaborate with the archive’s staff in the reorganisation and inventory of the huge archival heritage preserved here. For this internship, it is required the student to be attending one of the APD schools at the Archivi di Stato.
The Archive is also willing to accept further interns. The Archive gives the possibility of personalising the project according to students’ interests. For more information on the internship programme, please complete the contact form. It must be noted that the Archive is not an independent body, thus the internships’ projects all refer to the Arcidiocesi di Bologna’s activities, which can be found in the Unibo’s application software, accessible with students’ own credentials.
