Close to the study room, the Archivio Arcivescovile has established and kept updated a library, primarily directed to scholars and instrumental to archival documents’ investigation. The library, which has been improved in the past years, retains thousands of volumes, from local publications to the most significant academic ones on the history of Bologna and its Church. Moreover, the library comprises of almost every issues of several remarkable academic publications – such as Cristianesimo nella Storia and Atti e memorie della Deputazione di storia patria per le Province di Romagna – and of other historic journals – such as L’Archiginnasio and Strenna Storica Bolognese. Overall, the library is consistently increasing its belongings thanks especially – but not exclusively – to recent publications regarding the Archive’s documentation. Unfortunately, the library has been not registered with the OPAC system, yet. Thus, who is interested in having information whether a volume is available for being consulted on-site should contact the Archive’s personnel by clicking here.
